Achtergrond van Kings Kids

Standards

Throughout the past years we have experienced that Christians from different backgrounds can work together very well. God can work powerfully when a team is united. Although there are different viewpoints among churches, we can serve the Lord together.

In every King’s Kids team we work within a number of standards. Each member of our teams is expected to endorse these standards and to live them out in their personal life. If the applicants don’t agree with these standards, we don’t consider it to be wise to let them be part of our team.  For churches who partner with us, is it good to know what these standards are.

Relationship with God

As team members, we commit ourselves to a genuine relationship with God. We confess sins and search for God’s guidance in making decisions.

Leadership

Leadership training is a high priority for King’s Kids. The Lord Jesus taught us about servant leadership, which we want to put into practice. We expect our team members to have a serving attitude and to be submissive to their leaders’ authority.

Lifestyle

We expect our team members to strive for a holy lifestyle, not only during King’s Kids activities, but also in their daily walk.

Dating

During King’s Kids activities, we ask team members to not focus on dating or courtship. This applies to teenagers as well as to staff. We are not against dating, but during King’s Kids activities our focus is on serving God. We coach young people in developing healthy male/female relationships from a Biblical perspective.

Marriage

King’s Kids highly values healthy marriages between men and women. We believe that God has created men and women for each other and that sexuality is only meant in the context of marriage.

Alcohol

Team members commit themselves to not to use alcoholic drinks during King’s Kids activities so that they don’t offend anyone and can keep their focus on God.

Addictions

We believe that smoking, using drugs or anaesthetics, addiction to internet or any other form of addiction does not fit the Christian lifestyle. We see every form of addiction as an obstruction to living a life of true freedom. We believe that Christians shouldn’t be bound to anything. Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and we should embrace this. We teach and coach our team members how to live a life of freedom and embrace what God wants to give to each one of us.
